We are The Wiegand
Company of South Hutchinson, Kansas.
 We
are Life Members in The Antique Automobile Club of America, The Horseless
Carriage Club of America, The Veteran Motor Car Club of America, and The Harley-Davidson
Owners Group. We are members of The Society of Automotive Historians and
The Buick Club of America.
Our automotive interests are with the Buick Six-Cylinder cars from 1914 through
1930. We own three, very original, low mileage models from 1916 to 1922. Automobile
advertising (porcelain signs and sales literature) has been an interest for
almost 45 years.
Lots of folks have asked us over the years about our old Buicks and the Chevrolet
connection. It's really quite simple. Louis Chevrolet was a driver for
the Buick Race Team back in about 1909 or so. He, "Wild Bob Burman", and
Ewing Easter literally burned up just about every racetrack that a Buick set
tires on. Mr. Durant really used the racing to promote Buick at that point
in time. If it hadn't been for Buick, there just might not have been a
General Motors and maybe Mr. Chevrolet would have been building airplanes.
 Our
business started about 30 years ago when we reproduced some John Deere signs
for collectors. We worked with The Harley-Davidson Motor Company and produced
a replica of a pre-1910 dealer sign for the dealers/collectors. We produced
some historical signage for the 100th Anniversary of Buick Motor Company Meet
in Flint in 2003. We attracted the attention of several high ranking people
at General Motors through the quality of our products. The licensing agreement
with General Motors followed.
There are several things that we feel are extremely important to our customers
and friends. First, the QUALITY of any product must be the absolute finest
possible. A very famous person once said that "I'd rather try and explain
the price instead of the quality". We could not agree any more. Secondly,
it is essential to our customers to "Under-Promise and Over-Deliver". We
want satisfied, repeat customers. And probably the most important thing
in the view of our customers is to give them more than what they have paid for. Any
business, in our opinion, would do well to remember that.
A few words about our customers' privacy. We DO NOT and WILL NOT divulge
any email address or other sensitive information to anyone for any reason. However,
we will ask that if you know of other collectors who might like to be added
to our mailing list to contact us and we will get them included. |
